The Wharf is one of Macclesfield’s leading freehouse public houses, and the leading established live music venue hosting live music regularly. With five handpulled cask ales, cask cider and two guest keg ales always on offer, there is bound to be something for everyone. It is no secret that the Landlord, Chris Stairmand, loves single malt and craft beer; and as expected with over 40 single malts and a good range of bottled beers to add to the mix, a good tipple is certain!

The live music ranges from big band jazz through touring US blues musicians to solo acoustic guitar vocalists. With Sky Sports, BT Sport, a pool table, table skittles and darts to entertain. A sun-trap yard to the rear and plentiful road parking.

  1. We called in “on spec” during the evening of 8 August having moored our canal boat near the Puss in Boots. What a fantastic band Tony Malone and The Lonely Ponies. We thoroughly enjoyed the music.
